# Choosing a Tank

Entropia offers three strong tank options: **Templar**, **Force Master**, and **Seraph**. All three can survive demanding PvE content with the right equipment, but they are designed for different playstyles.

* **Templar** is the best fit for an independent self-sustain tank. It combines high durability with strong personal recovery and is especially comfortable when playing alone or without a dedicated healer.
* **Force Master** is a flexible hybrid tank. It combines high HP and solid survivability with respectable damage, useful party buffs, and enemy debuffs.
* **Seraph** is the most dedicated group-oriented tank and support option. It excels at protecting and sustaining a party through its high survivability, healing, and support abilities.

Regardless of the class, a tank should first reach enough HP to survive the strongest attacks of the intended content. After that, prioritize **STA, HP, defensive effects, block, and reliable recovery**. Recovery can come from class abilities, HP Recovery, Spell Vamp, or Suck Blood Diamonds. Once survivability is stable, additional damage helps shorten fights and improves the effectiveness of life-stealing effects.

Recent balance updates strengthened the tank progression of all three classes. Royal Blood set upgrades for Templar, Force Master, and Seraph now provide additional HP Recovery and STA scaling. The latest Soulreaver balance changes also increased the PvE 1-on-1 damage of all three Soulreaver sets, making the transition into Cardia content more comfortable.

There is no universally best tank for every situation. Choose **Templar** for self-sustain, **Force Master** for hybrid gameplay, or **Seraph** for dedicated party survivability and support.
