# Force Master

The **Force Master** is the most flexible tank choice. It is a melee hybrid with high base HP, solid damage, useful party buffs, and valuable enemy debuffs. This allows it to act as a tank without giving up as much offensive pressure or utility as a more defensive build.

For a tank setup, prioritize **STA, HP, defensive effects, block, and recovery** before investing further into damage.

A Force Master can also be built as a self-sustain tank by adapting the principles from the [Self Sustain Tank](/guides/class-guides/hybrid-tank.md). Although that guide uses a Templar as its example, the same basic approach applies: reach a safe amount of HP first, then add enough damage and Suck Blood to recover consistently during combat.

Recent Royal Blood changes made this build more effective. Royal Blood upgrades for the Force Master now provide additional HP Recovery and STA scaling, and the Royal Blood Force Master Set also grants **3% Spell Vamp**. The latest Soulreaver balance update increased the Soulreaver Force Master Set's PvE 1-on-1 damage from **9% to 20%**, improving its early Royal progression and its transition into Cardia.

## Strengths

* Strong balance of survivability, damage, and utility
* High HP and good tanking potential
* Useful party buffs and enemy debuffs
* Can switch more easily between offensive and defensive gameplay

## Weaknesses

* Less specialized in pure self-sustain than a Templar
* Offers less dedicated healing and protection than a Seraph
* Tank equipment reduces the damage advantage of the hybrid playstyle

Choose the Force Master if you want one character that can tank, contribute meaningful damage, and support the group through buffs and debuffs.
