# Royal Upgrading

There is a new system available for upgrading your Royal Equipment, which requires you to gather the necessary materials and forge them onto the weapon or set part. The item always receives a certain amount of EXP, which varies depending on the upgrade level. These EXP values are displayed on the Royal Items themselves.

The materials required for upgrading can be obtained by defeating monsters in [Cardia](/custom-content/royal/cardia.md). However, as you progress to higher upgrade levels, you will need to obtain upgrade materials from the Endgame dungeons.
