Ghost DCs / Bad Ping

Ghost DCs (Disconnections) in games refer to instances where players are disconnected from the game server without any apparent reason, usually due to network latency, packet loss, or other connectivity issues. This can be quite frustrating, as it can disrupt the gameplay experience and, in some cases, even result in penalties or loss of progress. Here's a tutorial on how to add a game as an exception in your windows firewall and how using a VPN can help with reducing your ping if you live far away from the game server:

Adding the game as an exception in your firewall:

Firewall software can sometimes interfere with the connection between your game and the game server. To prevent this, you can add the game as an exception in your firewall settings.

a. For Windows Firewall:

1. Open the Control Panel by searching for it in the Start menu.
2. Click on "System and Security," then "Windows Defender Firewall."
3. On the left pane, click "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall."
4. Click "Change settings" and then "Allow another app."
5. Browse for the game executable file (usually found in the game's installation folder) and click "Open."
6. Ensure both "Private" and "Public" boxes are checked, then click "OK."

b. For third-party firewall software (VPNs, Servers):

The process will vary depending on the software you are using. Please refer to the specific instructions provided by the software's developer.

Using a VPN to improve connectivity:

If you live far away from the game server, latency and packet loss can become significant issues. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) can help by routing your connection through a server that is closer to the game server, thereby reducing latency and improving overall connection stability.

We recommend to use the ExitLag VPN, which most of our Players use, but you can also try out a different one. ExitLag VPN also has a Free 3-Day Trial!

a. Choose a reputable VPN provider with servers in the region where the game server is located (France). b. Install the VPN software on your computer. c. Launch the VPN and connect to a server in the desired region. d. Start your game and check for improvements in latency and overall connection stability.

Please note that while a VPN can help in certain situations, it may not always result in better performance. Some game servers may even block or restrict VPN connections (Entropia Allows it), so it's essential to verify that the VPN you are using is compatible with the game you are playing.

By following these steps, you can potentially reduce the occurrence of Ghost DCs in your gaming experience, leading to a smoother and more enjoyable time while playing.

If the disconnections in Entropia still persist, try to add Entropia as an exception in your Antivirus: Guides to add exceptions: ā€¢ Windows-Defender: https://bit.ly/2yIGhAj ā€¢ Avira: https://bit.ly/3YAC1tG ā€¢ Avast: https://bit.ly/2zvrjxt ā€¢ Bitdefender: https://bit.ly/3GbvNtn ā€¢ McAfee: https://bit.ly/35Oc8f4 Make an Exception for: Entropia (Whole Folder) Entropia\Launcher.exe Entropia\Updater.exe Entropia\bin32\Neuz.exe Entropia\bin64\Neuz.exe It can be that you need to restart your Computer after that. It may also be helpful to re-download the game, not launch it yet, and first add the exceptions in your antivirus software. After doing so, perform a computer restart before launching the game.
